Expose Yourself?

Nobody should have been surprised that the very first meeting where Eric "The Nine" Schr9ager was president was titled "Expose Yourself." It was based on the premise that an investigative talk show hosted by Phil Notaclue (Eric, naturally; he tended to play smarmy game show hosts quite well) would take an all-too-candid look at one of today's more frightening phenomena: Monty Python fan clubs.

I played a guest, along with L.J. "Trotsky" Sparvero, Abner Mintz and John Roe (yes, that's his real name) as the Spanish Inquisition.

At another meeting that spring, I got together with friends Holli Weisman and Sadie O'Deay as a group called The Huh.

We performed a song parody, "Mild Thing," which I'd written.

Mild Thing by the Huh
Written by Alyce Wilson
(to the melody of "Wild Thing" by the Troggs)

Mild thing
You make me feel indifferent
You make everything more or less okay
Mild thing

Mild thing
I think I like you as a friend
But I wanna know for sure
Shake my hand
Yecch! It's clammy!

Mild thing
You make my feet itch
You make my dog throw up
Mild thing

Mild thing
I don't even know you exist
And I couldn't care less
I look right through you
Get a life!

Mild thing
You make me feel indifferent
You make everything more or less okay
Mild thing

(vamp)
You're a certified public accountant.
You wear a brown suit and a yellow tie.
You still live with your mother; you're 34.
You use nasal spray.
Your best friend is a dog named Binky.
Go file a financial statement.
Take a long walk off a short pier, buddy!
Mild thing

We performed this at the second skits meeting, dubbed Skits-o-Phrenia, with Brian Tepper as our manager and Don Klees as an interviewer. The performance was met with great applause, launching us on the road to stardom, or at least the overgrown path to moderately well-known within a certain geographical radius.
