September 8, 2006 - Good to Be Me

Today is my 36th birthday, and The Gryphon has given me a very nice gift.

When I checked my e-mail last night, I discovered that the intermediate improv class at ComedySportz will be starting in another week, and the deadline for signing up is Sunday. So he offered to pay for my class, just as he'd paid for my beginning class for a Christmas present.

I thanked him profusely. I mailed the check this morning and called the ComedySportz answering machine to leave them my contact info, as instructed.

Good things have happened to me in the last year, one of the most exciting being when The Gryphon proposed on our third anniversary. So we'll spend the next year making wedding plans. Sounds like a good way to spend a year!

I've been told recently that I look 10 years younger (or even more) than my actual age. That's how I've been feeling, too. I feel as optimistic and enthusiastic about my life and what it might bring as I did when I'd just graduated from college.

Along with the typical anxieties that accompany growing a year older, I've experienced a rebirth of optimism. I feel as if I'm just beginning the adventure of my life.

In celebration of that, here are a few photos I took this morning.

Moral:
You're never too old to feel optimistic.
