Biography

Alyce Wilson has more than 20 years of experience in writing for publication, including print journalism, freelance writing and editing, and Web publishing.

A published poet and columnist in various periodicals, Alyce has a Master’s of Fine Arts in Poetry from Penn State University. She is co-founder and editor of the online quarterly literary magazine, Wild Violet, and has self-published Stay Out of the Bin! An Editor’s Tips on Getting Published in Lit Mags, available as an e-book and pamphlet. Alyce’s work is also in Idol Musings, the best of an online writing competition.

Her first book, a biography of Will Smith, was published as an e-book by Blue Line Media in 2000; her first poetry chapbook, Picturebook of the Martyrs, was self-published in Spring 2004 and was reprinted in 2010. She is in the beginning stages of writing a book on creative wedding planning, My Wedding, My Way: Real Women, Real Weddings, Real Budgets, for which she’s conducted about a dozen interviews. She is currently working on another project, a collection of parenting essays tentatively called Belated Mommy: For Those Who Came to Parenting Later. Her collection of essays and columns, The Art of Life, was published in 2010. Other books are also in the works, including some nonfiction, a children’s fiction book, and a poetry chapbook.
