September 5, 2008 - Found Bad Grammar

Every once in a while I come across a sign that I find amusing enough to photograph.

The first dates back to last year, when I spotted this sign on a soda machine at a rest stop. I'm providing two photos, one of the sign in context, and one closeup. I guess "Out of Service" wasn't descriptive enough.

In other words, "Thirsty? Sorry, suckers."

The next sign, photographed on a lunch cart this summer, touts a new delicacy.

I guess now we know what Dan Quayle has been doing lately.

The final sign was photographed during August in Baltimore, on the final day of Otakon. It is unlikely to attract English geeks like myself, unless they simply want to point and laugh.

Maybe it's just me, but if you're going to spend all that money on a banner, shouldn't you have somebody proofread it first? The scary thing is, they probably did.

Moral:
Signs, signs, everywhere bad grammar.
