September 14, 2007 - Practice Hair

Earlier this week, I had my final cut and color before the wedding, as well as a practice run with my hairdo. The hair stylist asked me what sort of a look I wanted for, and I told her sleek and elegant, like Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Of course, I don't have nearly as much hair as Audrey did when that film was made, so instead of doing a twist on top of my head, we're going to do what's known as a partial up-do. The front part will be up, while the back will be down.

It will be more precise on the day of the wedding, and my hair stylist will also straighten my hair in the back for more of a '60s look.

This style posed a challenge for her, which I'm happy to say she met. To fully appreciate just how difficult it was, here's how my hair usually looks.

It's amazing how much longer my hair gets when you straighten it. And it's not even as curly as it was a couple years ago!

I'm looking forward to getting a chance to glam it up a bit and do something special on that special day. Fortunately, my hair stylist is up to the challenge.
