MPS Feature Segment on Trend State

The segment was completed in time to hand in as part of our class project.

Mark Sachs and my brother, Andy Wilson, did their Angry Old Men:

Andy, along with Holli Weisman and Matt Pyson, imitated the mall climb:

I showed the finished project at the next MPS meeting.

My Comm 481 group mixed down our first show from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Greg had a friend of his help us, since Rick Young was away. Due to a couple false starts, it took us the entire two hours to finish. Then I rushed off to the MPS meeting.

Not many people were there. The topic was something like Homecoming Preparation. Cathy Nelson had brought a VCR, so I showed my MPS segment to the group. I received a pleasant shock when they actually laughed! I had only received a lukewarm response from anyone else who saw it. To go even further, the group loved it!

The only dampener to the moment was when the VCR ate my tape. The tape wasn't pulled off the cassette or torn, just kind of squished and crumpled. I tried not to show much disappointment — and failed. But I told everyone not to worry — there was another copy in existence (the mixed-down version of the show).

Fortunately, the next day I showed the tape to the Comm 481 lab coordinator, John Imler, who actually fixed the poor, mangled tape.
