May 1, 2009 - NaPoWriMo - Bonus

I am participating in National Poetry Writing Month, where the goal is to write one poem a day for 30 days. During the month of April, I will be using the writing prompts at ReadWritePoem.org and posting the results.

Bonus Poem

I wrote this poem while sitting in the waiting room yesterday at the ear-nose-throat doctor, where my husband was having a follow-up regarind his allergies. These lines come from the front covers of the following magazines: More (May 2009), MomSpace (Winter/Spring 2009), Explorations, Road & Track (May 2009), All You (Issue 5), Money (May 2009), Men's Health (May 2009), Parent & Child (May 2009), Black Enterprise (May 2009), Parents (May 2009), Road & Track (June 2009), Essence (May 2009), Runner's World (May 2009), Brides Philadelphia (Spring/Summer 2009), and Boy's Life (May 2009).

(Yes, you can travel!)
Keep your kid safe
Be a frugal fashionista

Join the belly off club
Get major style on a minor budget
Ride the bailout wave
Give your engine a boost
Live the life you want
Be the boss
Your turn

I've really enjoyed participating in National Poetry Writing Month. I've found it's been a great way to spark my creative juices and get me, once more, in the habit of writing poetry. In the past 31 days, I think I have become a better person.
