In honor of Valentine's Day, here are some things I love, in no particular order.

  • My dog, especially her pink nosie.

  • Chocolate.

  • My family, my friends.

  • Seeing the sun come up on a beach on a summer morning.

  • Watching Law & Order marathons.

  • Drinking pina coladas.

  • Taking walks in the rain.

  • References to pop culture.
  • Playing the piano in a meditative state.

  • Playing the piano in a joyful/silly/sad state.

  • Staying up late.

  • Getting up early on a bright morning.

  • Reading The Fortean Times.

  • Singing along to the radio on a long drive.

  • Feeling as if you could just drive, drive, drive forever.

  • Making a find in a thrift store.

  • Well-written erotica.

  • Discovering a new writer, director, artist, comedian or musician.

  • Exploring new places, meeting interesting people, and not joining the Army.

  • Writing, creating, designing, photography.

  • The color purple.

  • Finding a new restaurant, especially a good one.

  • Hearing other people's stories, especially funny ones.

  • Hanging out with friends; getting silly with friends.

  • Tapestries, tie-dyes and glitter.

  • Army boots, fishnets, miniskirts.

  • Kahlua and cream.

  • Ben and Jerry's ice cream.

  • Finding obscure, wacky web pages and wasting time.

  • In-jokes.

  • Mocha cappuccinos.

  • Kittens and puppies, when they're small enough to fit in your hand.

  • Laughing out loud.

  • A fresh spring day.

  • A crisp autumn day.

  • A lazy summer day.

  • A fresh winter afternoon.

  • Wearing a cozy sweater.

  • Sensitive New Age guys.

  • Guys who look like bears but are big softies.

  • Pistachios.

  • Whimsical puppets.

  • Listening to music, any time, anywhere.

  • Live concerts, especially good ones.

  • Dancing, dancing, dancing.

  • Learning something new.

  • Lists.

Moral:
Appreciate the little things in life.
