December 5, 2006 - Space Music

As I mentioned yesterday, we've begun putting together possible music selections to play at our wedding reception.

Of the two of us, I'm more of a music connoisseur, so after discussing things with The Gryphon, I've been sifting through our CDs to look for songs and albums that might work.

Since we have a retrofuturistic theme for our wedding, we'd like the dinner music to have a spacy, loungey feel. This means music ranging from 60s space lounge to ballads to lounge versions of classic favorites.

After dinner, and after our first dance as a couple — to the Lenny Kravitz song "Believe" — the music will switch over to danceable hits, with some spacier tracks mixed in.

I managed to get through all of our current CDs and have started adding songs and/or albums that we might like to have played. It's possible that the DJ will have some of them.
