October 11, 2006 - Seen Around Town

I sometimes see interesting things in my travels around my neighborhood, and now that I have a camera phone, I can document them. Here are a few.

First up, a trash truck that had a large stuffed animal strapped to the back. It seems strangely fitting that it's Odie, taking a ride on an odiferous vehicle.

Next is a face that appeared in a tree in my neighborhood. I discovered it while walking my dog, Una. No idea how it got there, but it appears to be an art installation.

I found a really funky mushroom this summer while walking Una. It looks like an alien entity.

In a spice store in the Reading Terminal Market in Center City Philadelphia, I had to photograph a sign on a pepper shaker table I found truly amusing and maybe a little dirty.

And finally, I drove past a site where a building was being torn down. The last portion left was the front door, which was in tact. It looked so forlorn by itself, like photos of buildings bombed during World War II.

Moral:
Camera phones rock.
